Mount Kellett Drive Residential Competition
This was a competition for a luxurious accommodation in the prestigious Peak district of Hong Kong. An exclusive site located on a ridge overlooking the South China Sea was to become home to 14 opulent, detached residences lined along the new Mount Kellett Drive, an extension of Mount Kellett Road. The philosophy from the outset was to capitalise upon the unique plot and location, and provided for a concept of understated luxury throughout. A sweeping circular drive was designed to emerge from the lower ground level to the landscaped deck overlooking the splendid panorama of the southern shore of Hong Kong.
The lower ground level housed back-of-house services and elevated the podium to allow the houses above to capture maximum view. The three-storey houses are lined along the serpentine driveway over the landscaped deck. The houses are clad with Italian natural stone and low-E reflective glass walls. Titanium eaves and cornices projecting from the roofs form an intriguing skyline for the development, and, with external glass elevators offering a dramatic sea view, the uncompromising use of materials and planning presents a state-of-the-art design for contemporary luxurious living.
